Privacy policy

This policy explains how SerliShield (“we”) handles personal information when you use SerliShield. We designed the service to collect as little as possible and to protect what we hold.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, display name and a one-way hash of your password.
- Privacy profile: the names, email addresses, phone numbers and locations you choose to add so we can find listings about you. These are encrypted at rest.
- Scan results and requests: links to listings we found or you recorded, the evidence for each match, and the history of each removal request.
- Billing: plan, payment reference, amount and status. Card details are entered on our payment provider's page and never reach our servers. For manual Mobile Money payments we store the receipt you upload.
- Technical data: limited security logs (for example sign-in events) using hashed network addresses.
How we use it
- To search supported sources for listings about you and to show you the evidence.
- To prepare and, only with your authorisation, send removal requests, and to re-check listings.
- To send account, security and service notifications (you control the optional ones).
- To process payments, prevent abuse and keep the service secure.
We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Websites you ask us to contact: when you authorise an automated removal request, we send the source the details needed to identify your listing (typically your name and the listing link) and your account email so the site can reply to you.
- Service providers: our hosting provider, email delivery provider, payment provider, and the search or breach-check providers used for automated checks (for example, your email address is sent to Have I Been Pwned when that check is enabled).
- Legal obligations: where required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data until you delete your account. Records you reject as “not me” are deleted automatically after a short period. Security logs are kept for a limited time. When you delete your account, see Deleting your account for what is removed and the limited records we retain.
Your rights
You can view, correct, export and delete your information from your account settings at any time. Depending on where you live — including under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) — you may have additional rights. Contact us to exercise them.
